On Monday we had a cake sale to raise money for Unicef, the cakes were delicious! Tuesday was the talent show and we all had a great time. KS2 have a lot of talent. Our last day has been non-uniform day with a blue theme, again to raise money for Unicef. We also have a leavers’ assembly and end of year PARTY!

We have visited our new classes and we are all looking forward to starting a new year in September.  Today we have been signing t-shirts for year 6 who are leaving the school.  We will miss them.

Mr Kitchiner is leaving Ash Class and moving to Williow class (so watch out for Willow’s blog!) He is sad to leave but looks forward to the new challenge. Ash Class is finished for another year but the memories and laughter will live on in all of us. Thank you for reading our blog, we hope you have enjoyed hearing about Ash Class.  xx

On Tuesday morning we had our sports day and we tyried different activities. Yellow team won but we all had lots of fun.

On Wednesday afternoon we had a year 3/4 athletics competition where we tried our best to get a good score.

Thursday afternoon was the year 6 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and it was excellent.

On Friday we played Kwik Cricket with a man from Luton CC.

This week has also been very exciting. On Tuesday we went on a class trip to Linslade to find out about sewage treatment. We learnt a lot and had lots of fun. In Spanish we heard a new song to help us remember the names of parts of the body.

On Friday Mr Kitchiner did an assembly on believing in ourselves and taking responsibility for our choices. Also, in PE, we were joined by Mrs La Fortune and we had fun playing cricket and tennis.

On Tuesday we made a human circuit with everybody in the class and managed to light up 10 cosmic balls.

On Thursday afternoon 10 members of the class went to Ashcroft HS for a multiskills festival.

On Friday Chestnut class performed an assembly and we really enjoyed it. Megan is leaving Ash Class today. We wish her the best of luck in her new school and we will miss her.

Next week is TASC week and we will let you know how it goes.

In History we played on online game where we prepared an ancient Egyptian body for the afterlife by going through the stages of mummification. Our favourite part was removing the internal organs!

Our assembly topic is Changes and we have been learning how do deal with new challenges.

On Friday Elisha very kindly brought in some sweets that she bought in France over the half term.

On Monday we started a food diary where we can keep a record of our diet.

Tuesday was a special day because it was both Liam’s and Asli’s birthday and we had some sweets.  

On Friday we are celebrating with a party and we are going to eat healthy snacks.

Next week is half term so we will write again soon. Have a restful and safe half term.

Friday morning was our art workshop where we learnt more about surrealism and painted surrealist pictures. Next week is assessment week when we will all be working hard and our theme is Earth week. We will keep you posted.

Wednesday was the Big Read and we wrote letters to the Prime Minister to take care of the children who do not get to go to school.

On Thursday it was St George’s day as well as Shakespeare’s birthday. We have started new topics in all of our subjects which is very exciting. In art we looked at surrealism and drew our own surrealist pictures and some of them will be in an art gallery.

On Thursday we saw Bluebell class assembly which was great and on Friday we had a special Easter assembly from year 6.

We are all looking forward to the Easter holidays and will return to school refreshed and ready to learn!

This week we have been practising for our dance competition. We have been learning about different poems in literacy and we have been doing fractions in numercay.

We have started swimming and now know how to stay safe at the swimming pool. Our parent/carer consultations have been this week and they went very well.
